Gilgai Plains Primary School‘s gymnasium was ripe for a modernisation project. The goal was to create a versatile and immersive visual experience, enhancing both school events and recreational activities. Vision One Technologies stepped in to design and implement a comprehensive solution that would meet these objectives.
State-of-the-Art LED Wall Installation
To the front wall, we supplied and installed an Aurora VSPEC AOB Indoor P2.6 4000mm x 2500mm Impact-Resistance LED Display with a total resolution of 1536 x 960 Pixels. Powering content distribution, an Aurora LDP2625 Processor was installed in a nearby communications cupboard. Aurora’s VSPEC AOB Series utlises COB integrated LED technology to facilitate a more aesthetic display with better anti collision and impact resistance performance. RGB full flip chip embedded processing without chipset soldering reduces processing path and resolves insufficient solder, solder bridging and broken solder joint seen in lower quality displays, thus massively improving product reliability.
Enhanced Audio-Visual Connectivity
For a streamlined and reliable connection method, we installed a Crestron HD-TX-101-C-1G-E-B-T Powered HDMI/HDBaseT Wall Plate Kit with HD-RX-101-C-E Receiver. The HD-TX-101-C-1G-E (-B-T or -W-T) is a DM Lite® wall plate transmitter designed to pair with a DM Lite or DMPS Lite™ receiver to form a signal extender for HDMI® signals. The DM Lite family of products offers a versatile solution for extending HD, UHD, 2K, and 4K video signals with stereo or surround sound audio over a single CAT5e (or higher) cable.
To elevate audio playback flexibility, the existing Bluetooth connection was reused for playback.
Challenges & Innovation Solutions
Custom Recess Design: To overcome spacial constraints and to allow for greater cabling access, we cut out existing paneling to create a slight recess for the LED wall installation. This allowed for a concealed and cosmetic deployment of all cabling and infrastructure.
Optimal Viewing Experience: Addressing concerns raised about the potential for the basketball ring to obstruct a number of optimum viewing angles, Vision One lowered the entire wall installation by approximately 400mm. This adjustment allowed for a seamless and unobstructed view throughout the gymnasium.
