Sounding a new era: elevating the Scotch College outdoor experience.
Scotch College reached out to the Vision One team to deliver an upscale audio upgrade, modernising their AV/T capabilities in the outdoor Atrium of the junior school. The goal was to enhance audio clarity and overall experience during events and outdoor activities for students, staff and visitors alike.

Amplifying entertainment with Audac.
The installation involved a full audio system upgrade incorporating several high-performance components. Vision One supplied and installed an audio system featuring two Audac VEXO115/W 2-Way 15” Loudspeakers mounted on Audac MBK115V/W wall brackets, paired with an Audac SMA750 Power Amplifier. Central to the system’s operation was an Audac WP225 Universal Wall Panel, which offers microphone and line inputs, plus a Bluetooth receiver, working in conjunction with the Audac PRE116 Stereo Preamplifier. The VEXO115 loudspeakers, known for their compact design and natural sound reproduction, deliver an RMS power of 500 Watts and a maximum power of 2000 Watts. Complementing these, the SMA750 amplifier provided robust dual-channel audio with flexible output settings, making it ideal for fixed applications.

To further enhance audio performance, a Shure SHR-SLXD24DB8H57 Dual Wireless System was installed, complete with two Beta58 microphones. This system leverages the trusted SM58® Cardioid Dynamic Microphone capsules on handheld wireless transmitters, ensuring transparent digital audio and rock-solid RF stability—perfect for lecture halls and live events.
Additionally, an audio OUT was established via CAT6 Baluns from an existing Samsung TV, with cabling routed to the PRE116 via a UNiKA PRO MMD Noise Isolation Device. This dedicated DI box, featuring built-in isolation transformers, effectively restores high signal-to-noise ratios and preserves dynamic sound quality by mitigating radio frequency and ground interference.
Crafting a sonic oasis.
Further refinements included the installation of an HDMI Wall Plate beneath their existing Samsung TV, patched into HDMI 2, alongside the reprogramming of the RTI Wall Controller to facilitate HDMI laptop switching. Finally, a new 6RU equipment rack was installed above the existing Fire Panel rack on the right-hand side of the Atrium, neatly consolidating and safeguarding the new audio infrastructure.

The successful upgrade of Scotch College’s outdoor Atrium audio system by Vision One has transformed the space into a state-of-the-art venue for events and outdoor activities.
